These cuties have been on my wish list for 2 1/2 years! I'm so excited to announce their debut at the farm: hatched April 10th, 2026. I ordered hatching eggs from Melissa Hof out of Wyoming to start my own breeding program here at the farm.
Did you know, the Chantecler are on the Livestock Conservation Priority List? They are listed under the "Watch" category. What does this mean?
"Watch: For poultry, fewer than 5,000 breeding birds in the U.S., with 10 or fewer primary breeding flocks, and an estimated global population less than 10,000."
As I continue to work with these beautiful birds I will add more information regarding eggs production, temperament, carcass weights, etc.
